Community Guidelines
Effective date: September 29, 2026 · Version 2026-09-29
TrayPal is where students at your school talk about dining hall food: what is good today, what to skip, what should come back. These guidelines keep it useful. They are part of the Terms of Use, and breaking them has consequences.
The short version
Zero tolerance. Content that is objectionable or abusive gets removed, and the account behind it gets suspended or removed. Serious cases get no warning. We review every report within 24 hours.
Not allowed
- Harassment, bullying or intimidation of anyone, including dining staff and other students.
- Hate: attacks on people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Sexual content or nudity.
- Threats of violence, or content that encourages self-harm.
- Spam, scams, or posting the same thing over and over.
- Pretending to be someone else, a school office, or TrayPal.
- Doxxing: someone’s phone number, address, schedule, private messages or photos, posted without their consent.
- Anything illegal, or anything that breaks your school’s student conduct code.
Keep it about the food
Rate the dish, not the person who served it. Dining staff read this feedback and they are real people with names. “The chicken was dry” is fine. Mocking a worker is harassment and gets removed.
Anonymous is not invisible
You can share a Poll anonymously so other students do not see your name. We still know which account posted it. Anonymous posts follow the same rules and get the same consequences.
Photos
Meal and Poll photos are shown to everyone at your school, and the image link works for anyone who has it. No photos of people who have not agreed to be in them, and no screenshots of private conversations.
Your name and photo count too
Usernames, display names and profile photos have to follow these rules. We rename or remove the ones that do not.
How to report
Tap the ⋯ menu on any post, Poll or comment that is not yours and choose Report. Pick a reason (or several), add details if you want, and send it. The post disappears from your feed right away, and we review the report within 24 hours. On the website, each review has a Report button.
How to block
From the same ⋯ menu choose Block. Everything that person has posted, and anything they post later, is hidden from you. You can report and block in one step. Your blocked list is in Profile, under Settings.
What happens next
Content that breaks these rules is removed. The account that posted it is suspended or removed, and repeat offenders lose access for good. We never tell anyone who reported them.
